Mr Miles Parnell
Mr Miles Parnell MBBS BSc MSc FRCOphth is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and Clinical Lead for the glaucoma service at Princess Royal University Hospital, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He specialises in all aspects of glaucoma, cataract surgery and general eye complaints.
Mr Miles Parnell qualified in Medicine from Imperial College, London where he also gained a BSc in Endocrinology. He completed his ophthalmology training in London rotating through Moorfields at St George’s and St Thomas’ Hospital before gaining further expertise in glaucoma with a subspecialty glaucoma fellowship at King’s College Hospital.
He is currently the clinical lead for glaucoma at Princess Royal University Hospital, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust where he provides expertise in all aspects of glaucoma including medical treatment, laser treatment and surgical treatments (trabeculectomy, aqueous shunts and minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery).
Prior to his ophthalmology training he carried out research in glaucoma at the Institute of Ophthalmology in London as part of the Glaucoma and Retinal Neurodegeneration Group where he was awarded an MSc with distinction.
